Philly Bike Lanes
While it’s your right as a cyclist to use any city road, planning a route that utilizes the city’s bike lanes is always a good idea. They’re a huge help if you’re easing yourself into urban riding, and experienced riders can enjoy the reduced stress that comes with not having to jockey for position in city traffic.
Philadelphia has over 200 miles of bike lanes weaving throughout the city, with plans to add more. The Mayor's Office of Transportation and Utilities has put together a great bike lane map as well.
When you're using Philadelphia's bike lanes, remember to ride in the indicated direction, obey all traffic laws, and to use care and courtesy when passing other cyclists.
